Maxine Burrell MA (Professional Coaching)

Maxine has broad and wide-ranging experience of the international business environment with a proven track record of delivering business results. Maxine originally studied Chemical and Process Engineering before starting work at Unilever. She spent the main part of her career with BP in a wide variety of international roles. She came to coaching from the field of sports coaching before becoming an internal coach in addition to her main work roles and finally transitioning to an independent professional coach in 2003. Her experience in a wide range of roles, in engineering, finance, business strategy & planning, commercial development & economic evaluation, organisational culture and individual change and leadership development provide her with a strong understanding of the challenges facing organisational leaders.

Maxine’s clients are often individuals who are seeking to explore and make sense of the complexities of their situation with an aim of making better informed choices. Her approach of coaching as part of a learning conversation which offers support and the space to examine issues from multiple perspective’s, is complemented by her probing questions designed to encourage clients observational thinking. Clients develop meaningful learning and a repertoire of new practices supported by increased self-awareness and confidence.

Maxine holds a Masters degree in Executive Coaching accredited by Middlesex University and the EMCC which she completed through i-coach academy. She has completed the Human Systems Dynamics Certification programme, as well as Psychology of Coaching and an Introduction to Somatic Coaching. A Member of the EMCC, she adheres to their code of ethics and also has regular supervision for her coaching practice. In addition she is a Chartered Management Accountant and holds a BSc in Chemical and Process Engineering. Recent clients include KPMG, Save the Children, i-coach academy students, Royal College of Nursing, TeachFirst and a range of individual clients in small to medium enterprises.
