Comfort Mongezi Makhalima is currently acting as the Managing Executive and founding member of The Coaching Community as well as CEO of The Entrepreneurship Academy of Southern Africa.
With more than 13 years experience working in various areas within the financial services sector including accounting, credit risk, IT and client services, Mongezi has gained valuable insight into the workings of business systems. He has spent the last six years in the Human Capital Management arena, heading HR in business areas that include vehicle and asset finance, marketing and small business. Most recently he was accountable executive for Talent Management and Development for the Absa group. Mongezi’s background has placed him in an ideal position to coach in areas of career and leadership coaching.
Mongezi's coaching focus is in the Entrepreneurship space. This is informed by worked he has done with entrepreneur development agencies as a business mentor and advisor and as a result Mongezi has developed an affinity to the small and medium enterprise sector and an understanding of this sector’s challenges and opportunities.
He has commercial training, with specialisation in financial, marketing and property management and industrial psychology. He holds an MBA from the University of the North West plus post-graduate training in business consultation, group process consultation and facilitation, organisational change management and strategy design and implementation. He is currently completing a Masters Degree in Work-Based Learning (Professional Coaching) with i-coach academy through Middlesex University, UK. He sits on the Executive Committees of COMENSA (Coaching Mentoring in South Africa) as well as the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychologists of South Africa (SIOPSA). In addition to individual clients locally and on the African continent, Mongezi’s client base includes organisations like Sasol, Absa, Standard Bank, Old Mutual, SABC and Bankseta.
