Peter Critten

Dr Peter Critten is a Principal Lecturer within the HRM Academic Group of Middlesex University Business School. He is also the Co-ordinator of work-based Learning programmes within the School and leader of the new Doctorate in Professional Practice.
Peter has over 30 years experience of designing and organising training and development in both the private and public sectors. He has published three books and numerous articles and conference papers on work-based learning, continuing professional development and the application of complexity theory to organisation development.
His current interest is in the field of ‘Practitioner research’ and he has collaborated with Paul Barber, the author of Becoming a Practitioner researcher: A Gestalt Approach to Holistic Inquiry, to be published by MUPress in May. He graduated from the i-Coach Academy Certificate programme 2005. The model of coaching he produced for his project was derived from complexity theory and he has a current interest in exploring the links between change brought about by coaching at the individual level and organisational change through a coaching culture.
