The field of coaching is full of adverts to become a master coach but what does that really mean?

This seminar explores the concept of mastery, how the idea originated and what the journey to becoming a master involves. In delivering this workshop, Prof. Mike van Oudtshoorn draws on his own mentors George Leonard and Wendy Palmer whose work on Zen philosophy and martial arts of aikido show how the process of mastery can help us to achieve a higher level of excellence, a deeper level of satisfaction and fulfilment in our daily lives.

The Presenter

Professor Mike van Oudtshoorn EdD. PhD. CPsychol.
The founder of i-coach academy, Prof. Mike van Oudtshoorn is a South African born organisational psychologist who has extensive international experience in consulting, academic teaching and executive coaching. Mike's background in business, adult learning and development, assessment of potential and performance, existential counselling is firmly underpinned by a master's qualification in counselling, two doctorate qualifications and a breadth of experience with organisation client projects internationally, which is difficult to capture in a few lines. He was the HR director of the Edgars Group before starting his own consultancy in 1973.

Mike has held academic posts at The Californian School of Professional Psychology, The Fielding Institute and Napier Business School. Apart from his current role as academic dean for i-coach academy, Mike is currently Chair of the African Centre for Coaching and Learning based at the University of Stellenbosch Business School and holds visiting professorships at Middlesex University and Stellenbosch University. Mike splits his time between consulting to deliver organisational change through coaching, executive coaching, academic teaching and supervision, and research into the professional mastery and adult learning and development.

• Cancellation more than 30 working days prior to a seminar or event date = 0% of fees forfeit
• Cancellation fewer than 30 working days but more than 15 working days prior to a seminar or event = 50% of fees forfeit
• Cancellation fewer than 15 working days prior to a seminar or event = 100% of fees forfeit Any cancellation must be received in writing.

If for any circumstances beyond our control, we have to cancel the seminar, we will refund the full amount to you.
