Q. I am interested in developing coaching skills that I can use in my day-to-day interactions and work conversations. I am yet to undertake any training in coaching and am currently not working in a coaching capacity. Do you have a programme that is suitable for me?

A. The Foundation in Coaching Skills Programme is designed for anyone interested in developing coaching skills - you could be a manager, human resource or training consultant, business consultant/adviser, teacher, counsellor, therapist, social worker, sports coach or parent. This programme will help you to develop foundation level skills that will equip you to progress to other i-coach academy programmes should you wish.

Q. I have foundation level coaching skills and I am able to engage in a coaching conversation. What is the next first step towards becoming a professional coach?

A. The Certificate in Coaching Practice Programme. This is the first year of the Masters in Professional Coaching and will provide you with an excellent foundation in the practice of coaching. This programme is designed for anyone aspiring to coach formally and is also suitable for experienced coaches who wish to articulate their current approach by building a unique coaching framework and benchmarking themselves with a peer group.

Q. I have worked as a coach for some time. I am confidant in my ability but am seeking to benchmark myself against recognised standards and gain Masters Accreditation for my professional practice. Which programme would recognise my previous training and experience while offering a learning journey to challenge and enhance my professional coaching practice?

A. The Conversion Module and the Masters in Professional Coaching Programme. As an experienced coach with an established coaching practice the second year programme is likely to be right for you as it will assist you to explore your unique contribution and signature presence in the field of coaching, to build a greater repertoire for your practice and to underpin your work with a wide variety of theoretical perspectives.

Q. I am an experienced professional in my own field and have coached informally for years. I am keen to integrate my previous experience into an individual coaching approach but I am also keen to learn more about how to use coaching more effectively within my organisation where I am responsible for leadership development and organisational and individual learning. Which programme would be right for me?

A. The Conversion Module and the Masters in Professional Coaching Programme. The second year of the Masters in Professional Coaching is likely to be the right programme for you as it will assist you to explore your unique contribution and signature presence in the field of coaching, to build a greater repertoire for your practice and to underpin your work with a wide variety of theoretical perspectives. The Masters Qualification route also offers you the opportunity to conduct work-based research into applications which offers a tangible contribution to your organisation whilst contributing to your professional development and the development of the coaching profession.
